REDWOODS PROJECT
A little late in posting this but back in August we received an email from the Chair of the Emsworth Arts Trail to see if anyone was interested in taking part in an art project for the Chichester Festival Theatre. The brief was to create a piece of art in the style of a vinyl album cover for an upcoming stage show called Redlands. This was the story back in the 1960’s where the cottage of Keith Richards based down in the West Wittering (near Chichester) was raided by the police and both Keith Richards and Mick Jagger for the Rolling Stones appeared in court and sent to jail. Chichester Festival Theatre plan to create a wall of vinyl as part of an exhibition.
The idea of the cover came pretty quickly, I trusted my instincts and sketched the initial image I had in my mind and the concept was finalised in a couple of hours. Luckily for me I was just starting a 10 day staycation so had free time to work on this project but still limited as I needed to finish before I went back to work, so keeping it simple and clean was the plan.
I made this misfortune of using one of Zena’s old vinyl ablum, keeping the outside cover and discarding the record into our bin - note to self; should have hidden it better as it was soon discovered!!!
